Colorescience Sunforgettable Total Protection Face Shield Flex Review

Colorescience Sunforgettable Total Protection Face Shield Flex SPF 50
See what Rachel had to say after integrating the Colorescience Sunforgettable Total Protection Face Shield Flex into her daily routine..

'I was toying between the shades fair and medium for weeks. I wouldn't say that I am a fair complexion but I am definitely not a medium skin tone either (I wish!), I would say that I am a typical light skin tone but with a yellow undertone and I hate anything too pink as it just doesn't look good on me at all. But, after watching various YouTube reviews and going with Colorescience' advice of choosing the lighter shade if you are undecided, I opted for shade Fair
If you are a very oily skin type then I would suggest that you don't need a separate moisturiser underneath as it feels ultra-hydrating upon application, however, I have a combination skin type and always moisturised beforehand. Also, don't be alarmed when the formula comes out completely white, this is how it should look! The formula initially is white with tiny little black specks, these are the encapsulated iron oxide pigments that are released once blended into your skin and then adjust to your skin tone creating the perfect shade for you.

1 layer creates a sheer coverage, 2 layers create a light to medium coverage and 3 layers create a full coverage. I found that I needed to wait no longer than 30-60 seconds between layers to allow the product to 'bloom' and adapt to my skin before going in with another layer. One and a half to two layers worked well for me and then I added a little concealer to anywhere that needed brightening further i.e under my eyes. I prefer to have a lighter coverage on my forehead and more coverage in my t-zone so I love that I can easily adjust this across my complexion! Honestly, there is no need to use foundation when you are wearing this, it is like your sunscreen and foundation in one, but absolutely no cakiness. I love it! As much as I love using a make-up brush to apply all of my make-up, I have found that it is definitely better to use your hands here as the warmth of your fingertips helps to burst the pigments much better.

What I love about this product as well is that it's cruelty-free, vegan and oil-free. I've tried a lot of tinted moisturisers, BB creams, CC creams, and DD creams over the years and this is most definitely the best. You have to try it!'
