Medik8 Advanced Day Ultimate Protect SPF 50+ Review

We are all obsessed with SPF right now and the importance of wearing it all year round is now (thankfully) becoming common knowledge. So, it has never been more important that we find one that we love, as the best sunscreen for you is the one that you'll use every day.

 

Last year, I reviewed the SPF 30 version (you can still read that here) and loved it, it is probably still one of my favourite sunscreens that I've tried, so I was interested to see how this one compared to it. 

 

I've tried and tested numerous Medik8 products now and I'm yet to find one which I don't like or get on with so, that was another reason why I was super excited to try out this new launch. Medik8 customers and stockists alike have high expectations from every new product they bring out so it definitely had big things to live up to!

 

Medik8 promises the highest possible protection here with a 50+ SPF rating while still being an ultra-lightweight, hydrating formula.

 

Boasting SPF 50+ UVB, it also contains PA++++ UVA, both of which are the highest levels of protection available on the market. Now, traditionally, high factor sunscreens aren't fun to apply at all, right? They can feel thick, congesting on the skin and like you are rubbing them in forever!

 

However, this sunscreen is different. It is a dream to apply.

 

It feels just like a luxurious moisturiser and there was no obvious scent to me (if this is something that you look out for). It has a slightly rich texture but it absorbed into my skin straight away.

 

I have a normal to combination skin type and towards the end of the day, I had a slight glow on my complexion, which is completely normal for me, but it never made me feel or look shiny at all (and there is definitely a difference between glowy and oily!)

 

I have been using it alongside another one of my favourites; anti-oxidant Medik8 C-Tetra Luxe. Together, Vitamin C and SPF are the ultimate skincare duo to help to protect your complexion against free radical damage, compared to using just SPF alone, but also in providing a beautiful, healthy glow immediately and also over time with continued use. They paired together really well and I didn't experience any pilling or incompatibility using them in the same routine. If you don't use a Vitamin C already then just look into the benefits and thank me later.....

 

All in all, it has definitely lived up to my expectations and I would highly recommend!
