Kate's Struggle With Rosacea And How Her Skin Has Never Looked So Good as now!

I have finally learnt how to deal with my Rosacea, so I am keen to share the tips and knowledge that I've gathered through battling with Rosacea.

"As you can see on the left is when my Rosacea has been triggered and flared up compared to the right where my Rosacea is under control. I try to avoid triggers and swear by my skincare regime, I don't know where I'd be without my products to control it" - Kate

Kates Rosacea Tips:

1/Know what you’re dealing with…

As with any skin condition, you need to diagnose the problem first before you can treat it.

2/ Don't be afraid to use skincare products…

It is wise to choose cosmeceutical skincare products which are backed by science and proven to work. Make sure your skincare routine goes beyond just cleansing and moisturising.

Pick products that help decrease inflammation and fight free-radical damage (vitamin C). Use a barrier repairing moisturiser and be sure to apply sunscreen.

3/ Know your triggers and avoid them. Mine are quite typical ones for Rosacea such as temperature changes hot & cold, alcohol, spicy food, stress and sun exposure - everything I love, unfortunately.

4/ Make sure your sun cream is either a mineral or physical-based sunscreen (not chemical). l carefully select my sunscreen to avoid any chance of irritation - I love SkinCeuticals Mineral Radiance SPF as it offers high SPF50 protection and is tinted.

5/ Your skincare regime must contain a vitamin C serum as
this is great for reducing inflammation and fighting free radical damage.

I am currently using iS Clinical Pro-Heal Advance which is great for both healing and controlling inflammation.

6/ Rosacea cannot be cured, but proper skincare can help to
keep the symptoms under control. Make sure you don't skip your daily skincare
regime.

7/ Gentle cleansing is extremely important to help remove makeup, pollution, impurities and excess oil.

Choose your cleanser according to your skin type and make sure you rinse with lukewarm water.

8/ Stay hydrated - drink plenty of water to restore moisture to the skin. Water also helps to flush out toxins in the skin.

9/Only use mineral make-up. My favourite foundation is Oxgenetix which I find great for hiding the redness.

10/ Finally de-stress and unwind…

My favourite go-to relaxing, calming &  de-stressing mask is the SkinCeuticals Phyto Corrective Mask which instantly calms and hydrates my skin.
