Micro-needling & Skincare
Microneedling and Dermarollers create a multitude of tiny puncture wounds to the skin, which induce the release of growth factors that stimulate the production of new collagen and elastin.
This accurate and minimally intrusive penetration allows much higher absorption of topical formulations, such as serums and creams
What are the various microneedle lengths for?
- 0.2/0.3mm – for increased absorption of skincare products and overall improvement of skin tone and texture. (rejuvenation)
- 0.5mm – for wrinkles, first signs of aging, mild acne scarring, and thinning hair.
- 1.0mm, 1.5mm – for stretch marks and deeper scars & wrinkles (in clinic only)
- 2.0mm, 2.5mm, 3.0mm – (not recommended for the face) for extensive scarring and cellulite. (in clinic only)
If you're looking for effective results from wrinkles & scarring I recommend that you have a course of treatments at a clinic first then follow with HOME-USE NEEDLE to enhance your results.
How should I prepare for my microneedling treatment?
Skin priming should start 1-4 weeks before your treatment. Skin priming ensures the best results from skin needling. The use of stable vitamin C and vitamin A serums in the weeks before skin needling, ‘jump-starts’ the process of collagen production, accelerating the benefits from treatment. Use vitamin C in the morning and vitamin A at night. You should continue with your usual cleansing, moisturising, and sun protection routine.
If you are prone to hyper-pigmentation then you are advised to add a lightening treatment.
Products used during treatment
Skin needling will induce collagen synthesis on its own (dry skin needling), but skin improvements are significantly enhanced by combining skin needling treatments with topical application.
Usually, the serums used during needling for anti-aging benefits and scarring are Growth factors, Antioxidants, hyaluronic acid, and Peptide serums.
Those with pigmentation may use a lightening treatment serum, like Cliniccare X3M EGF Glow Serum
Topical Growth Factors used during the treatment will significantly add to the natural ‘pool’ of growth factors that are released in response to the microneedle injury significantly aiding the regenerative process.
After the application of serums, it's vital to follow with a moisturiser and a daily sunscreen is also essential.
How should I care for my skin after the clinic treatment?
It's important to properly care for your skin following a treatment to optimise results. The personal use of Microneedle Roller or Stamp can be used after or during the course of treatment to dramatically enhance product absorption and efficacy.
Topical application of vitamin C and Retinol products (vitamin A) will lead to a dramatic acceleration of regenerative processes and maximise the treatment results. Ideally, growth factors would be used in the post healing phase of a clinic roller and also as part of a daily routine incorporating home dermaroller.

Fine lines and rejuvenation
I would apply vitamin C and SPF every morning. Roller with a Hyaluronic Acid serum
Wrinkles, Enlarged pores, or mild scarring:
I would apply vitamin C & SPF every morning and Vitamin A at night. Roller with a growth factor or peptide serum.
For pigmentation:
I would apply vitamin C every morning followed by pigment lightening product & of course SPF.
At night roller with pigmentation lightening serum, then follow with vitamin A & moisturiser.
Please note results from needling are not seen straight away. Visible results of skin rejuvenation may be seen after 2 - 6 months.
