DermaTx Clarify Salicylic Cleanser Product Review

Anything that contains Salicylic Acid as a main ingredient, I'm already interested! Salicylic Acid is an amazing BHA (beta hydroxy acid) skincare ingredient that is clinically proven to be deep cleansing to easily unclog congested pores, prevent future breakouts, and control acne. It's also good for inflammation, excess oil, and enlarged pores. So, for me with skin that tends to be prone to breakouts and congestion, DermaTx Clarify Salicylic Cleanser sounded perfect. 

 

I really like exfoliating cleansers as they are quick and simple to use taking only a few minutes and tend to give me results pretty quickly. You can tailor how often you use them from every day if your skin concern is severe or just once a week as maintenance. I was expecting the cleanser to have no scent but, when I opened it, I was surprised to find a mild tea tree aroma. I later found out that tea tree is also a key ingredient in the formula. Tea tree is highly effective in treating blemishes as it is anti bacterial, anti inflammatory and antiseptic. Perfect!

 

It was a light gel texture that massaged into my damp skin easily (but remember to avoid the eye area). It lathered up slightly but not massively. It's best to leave a treatment cleanser on the skin for a few minutes to really allow the active ingredients time to work effectively. It's good practice to apply, brush your teeth for the recommended 2 minutes, and then remove.

 

At the time, during my first application, my skin wasn't in a good place at all so I really went in and left it on for a good 10 minutes like a face mask... I have to admit, my skin did feel terribly dry afterwards but nothing a good moisturiser couldn't solve and it did the job. I couldn't believe just how much my blemishes had reduced. Some had disappeared entirely and a lot of inflammation caused by the blemishes had disappeared. I was shocked and obsessed at the same time and couldn't wait to use it again the next day. 

 

Whilst my skin was congested, I began to use the cleanser once a day along with a gentle non-active cleanser to gradually continue improving my complexion. Within 7 days my skin had done a full 360 and was basically back to normal and completely clear. I dropped down my usage to a couple of times a week in order to improve the post-inflammatory pigmentation that had been left behind from the breakouts. 

 

This is hands down my most favourite and the best anti blemish cleanser that I have ever used. It's effective and does exactly what it says on the label which isn't usually the case! I've even got my boyfriend hooked and he uses it daily to keep his skin clear. My skin is in a much better place now so whilst I still use it, it's only as and when I feel that I need it but it's a staple in my bathroom cabinet. 

 

If you suffer from acne and breakouts like I do - you have to try it. You'll be amazed like I was and still am!
